Parade!

Makayla experienced her first parade this weekend. We took her to the James Dean Festival parade.

Birthday Party Fun

We went to Ohio Sept 21-22 to celebrate my sister's two babies first birthdays. Makayla had fun playing with her cousins. She fits right in despite the 5 month age difference.

We've been trying for a while now to get tthe three together AND awake at the same time. We finally did!

6 month check-up

Makayla had a well-baby checkup on Sept. 5. She now weighs 16 pounds, 11.5 ounces. She is 25 1/4 inches long. We weren't expecting to have her iron level checked, but the doctor wanted to see if we could stop giving her vitamin/iron supplements. It was a traumatic experience (a very drawn out finger prick and an irate mom) but she longer needs them. Yay!

Crib Time

Cribs are for more than sleeping. It's also a fun place to play while Mommy puts my laundry away!

Bath time

Makayla has outgrown her infant bathtub that fits in the kitchen sink. She took her first tub bath last night. She loved it!

Zoo

On Labor Day the three of us went to the Zoo. We had so much fun experiencing Makayla's first trip to the zoo. She saw animals that are in her favorite Baby Einstein video. She can now sit up in her stroller so she had a great view.

It was fun watching Makayla's intense expression as she focused on the animals. She loved the penguins.

Weekend Fun

We went camping this weekend with my brother Jason and his family. The weather was perfect! Warm during the day and cool in the evening. Great for sitting around the fire. My parents came Saturday evening to visit with us too!

Elizabeth will make a good baby-sitter some day. She always wants to hold Makayla.

Big Girl

Look at me! I am eating baby food now and I like it! I can sit in my highchair even though I really can't sit up on my own yet. I look really small in my big chair. Mommy went back to work last week, but I'm okay. I get to spend time with Grandmom and my cousin Noah everyday! Have a great week everyone!

6 Year Anniversary

Scott and I celebrated our six year anniversary last Saturday. Scott surprised me with six red roses. I can't believe how time flies.

We celebrated by going to Fort Wayne and watching the newest Harry Potter Movie and eating at Logan's.

Camping

Makayla enjoyed camping at Mississinewa Lake. She had a lot of new things to look at. She LOVES her exersaucer, and I love that she loves it.

Makayla's cousin Caislyn and Grandma W. even came out to spend the day with us.

Doctor Visit

Makayla had another checkup today. She now weighs 14 pounds 3 ounces, and is 24 3/4 inches long. She sure is growing!

Bare Naked Baby

Today I decided to let Makayla go bare for a while to help air out some diaper rash she has developed this week. She loved it! I just had to get a picture. But not before she peed all over the place. Thankfully we had her on a disposable changing pad.

Happy Birthday Scott! His birthday was Friday, June 29. We went out to eat and then to a movie, but he was too sick to enjoy it. Now all three of us are battling colds.

Sorry it's been a while since I posted. We went to Ohio to see my niece and nephew dedicated last weekend and then my Grandma Moorman passed away last Sunday. She was 91! But I'm back and I'll try to post more often.

4 Months Old

Makayla turned 4 months old yesterday! She is now ready to start eating baby food. She tried rice cereal and wasn't too sure what to do with it. Most of it came back out. Hopefully she will grasp the concept soon and will enjoy trying new things. Isn't she so cute? I think so anyway.


You can't see it, but she is sitting in her new Bebe Pod chair. It's made for babies not quite ready to sit up.

Camping

Makayla went on her first camping trip this past weeked. We camped with my brother and his famly at Brown County State Park. My parents even went and stayed at the Abe Martin Lodge. Makayla seemed to enjoy it, despite the brutal heat. We went swimming twice, which was the only way to cool down. I'm not sure what happened, but the only pictures we took were of everyone swimming. I will besure to take better pictures on our next trip. Next we're off to Mississinewa Lake.

Dedication Part 2

Dedication

Makayla was dedicated yesterday at church. We were surrounded by family as we thanked God for blessing us with Makayla and gave her back to God. We pledged to care for her and raise her in a Christian home.

We celebrated by having lunch together in our backyard. Makayla was so exhausted tonight by all the excitement that she fell asleep on the floor with her hand still gripping the link-a-doo on her activity gym!

Rolling Over

Makayla started rolling over this week. We found her on her belly in her crib Monday morning. And now we can't stop her! She wants to roll over all the time, but when she does she cries. Does this make any sense? Sigh. Our little girl is growing up.
